This blog was created to spread awareness of soldiers that become POW's, also
known as prisoners of war. It is to show my respects, and make known the trials
and tribulations that these soldiers endure during times of war. It is also to
show the sacrifices that soldiers make everyday to ensure that we keep our
freedom. POW's are a sad and scary reality, and deserve some support! I look
forward to posts sharing stories or just thoughts in general to show support for
our soldiers!! Thanks!

NEVER FORGET

Prisoners of war are soldiers that have been taken captive during times of war, people that sacrifice their lives everyday to give us the freedoms we have as Americans.  Some make it home and some do not, for those that do life is anything but easy.  Some find it hard to adjust to everyday life after experiencing the trauma they did.  They can be withdraw, listless, have little to no memory of the events that occured, be uncommunicative, basically just having a lack of connection and drive for their life at home.  Then there are some that can go the opposite direction and have a surplus of memories of being prisoners of war.  Having no time to relax and feel at peace, even when sleeping can have endless nighmares.  It is important to still discuss these events and the feelings these soldiers have, in order to show them respect and appreciation of the sacrifices they have made...to never forget what they have done for us, and they didn't go through the things they did in vain.

  1. Wow. What a great blog. It’s difficult for me to completely understand everything that soldiers and their families are put through, because I have never had someone close to me be in the army. I can only imagine what it must be like, and it’s nice to read something like this to remind me of the men and women who are currently risking their lives for me. I feel I’ve been so selfish, this reminds me to pray for them.

  2. Awesome!! That was the point of all this, I think that is great. I also agree it is easy to get into our everyday lives and forget there are such terrible things happening but we are human. This is just a little reminder! Thanks for the post!

  3. I realy enjoyed this blog and learned a lot about POW. I have been a part of something I believe to be pretty great with one of our neighnors at our cabin. Ever since I was little he has been putting up a POW flag at the top of the mountain behind us and now that he isn't able to I have taken it over. I put a flag up in the spring time and one in the fall to insure that the flag flies all year around and stays in good shape. Until this point I didn't really know what It was I was just doing it because I really like our neighnor and was trying to help him out. Now I realize the importance behind it and how great it realy is thank you

  4. I love that story!! I think that is so awesome you do that for him. It probably means so much, it would be so interesting to know what he has been through! I imagine that little things like that, reminders that people care still about the things he has been through mean so much to him!
